Summary

  • Private jets vary greatly in terms of interior design and functionality. While some have simple features, others are equipped with multiple zones for entertainment, conferences, or bedrooms.
  • Most private jets have less living space and day-to-day functionality than an actual home, despite including extravagant finishings, kitchens, bedrooms, and common areas.
  • The Bombardier Global 7500, Airbus ACJ320neo, BBJ 777, and Airbus ACJ350 are private jets that go above and beyond in terms of size and functionality, rivaling houses in terms of space and amenities.

Private jets of any kind are invariably symbols of luxury and status, but not all are built as equals. Some, like the Cirrus Vision SF50, have interiors that are not so different than what one might expect to find in a family minivan. Others, like the Gulfstream G700, are made for larger groups and include multiple interior zones that function as entertainment centers, conference rooms, or bedrooms.

Even so, drawing clear comparisons between most private jets and something like a house is difficult. While plenty of jets include extravagant finishings and may include kitchens, bedrooms, and common areas, they typically have much less living space and day-to-day functionality than an actual home.

Below are four private jets that go many steps further than most, to the point of rivaling a modern house.

4 Bombardier Global 7500

Although competition is on the horizon, the Bombardier Global 7500 is currently the world’s largest purpose-built private jet. Able to seat 19 passengers and fly 7,700 nautical miles, the Global 7500 offers the ability to incorporate living and entertainment areas, a dedicated crew suite, and a bedroom with an en-suite stand-up shower.

While perhaps not as large as many detached family homes, the Global 7500 would certainly give many apartments a run for their money – assuming money was no object.

3 Airbus ACJ320neo

If the Bombardier Global 7500 competes against a well appointed apartment, the Airbus ACJ320neo comes up against the penthouse. Offering more than 1,000 sqft of floor space, the ACJ320neo has around four times that of most of its closest competition.

The jet’s interior can be fully customized to fit customers’ desires, and utilizing Airbus Corporate Jets’ TwoTwenty Creative Studio, they can see exactly how their design will look through virtual walkthroughs of a physical, on-site mock cabin.

2 BBJ 777

Produced by Boeing Business Jets, the BBJ 777 is the rival that outsizes the average American house. Clocking in at more than 3,200 sqft, the aircraft can include a plethora of rooms, including full-size bedrooms and bathrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, offices, kitchens, and more. That said, the jet costs more than $400 million.

1 Airbus ACJ350

In its largest configuration, the Airbus ACJ350 is about 100 sqft larger than the BBJ 777. The plane offers up to 22 hours of nonstop flight with an 11,100 nautical mile range in utmost luxury. Cabin design is, unsurprisingly, also fully customizable, and as with the ACJ320neo, customers can take advantage of a virtual staging area to visualize their design.

Standard configurations offer a full-size bedroom and bathroom suite, a private office, executive seating, a dining/conference room area, multiple service areas, guest seating, and staff seating. The ACJ350 also boasts the inclusion of up to eight separate controllable temperature zones.
