Once known as Club Premier, Aeromexico renamed its frequent flyer program Aeromexico Rewards in April 2023. The loyalty program was the first in Latin America, and today, the SkyTeam member has taken full advantage of its joint venture with Delta Air Lines, providing members significant perks. Let's take a look at the elite tiers in Aeromexico Rewards and how to gain status.

Gold

After you sign up, the first tier you can reach is Aeromexico Rewards Gold, giving you access to SkyTeam Elite benefits and much more. To qualify, you'll need:

  • 50,000 Qualifying Points, or
  • 50 eligible segments*

We'll go into earning points in greater detail in a separate article, but points on Aeromexico are earned based on your spending. Base members receive 8 Qualifying Points per $1 spent on base fare and surcharges (not taxes and fees). SkyTeam partner earnings are based on miles traveled and fare class flown. Note that bonus points don't count toward your Qualifying Points for status.

Once you hit Gold, you'll get the following perks:

  • 3x extra Premier Points earned on tickets (11x multiplier)
  • SkyTeam Elite status
  • One extra bag on all Aeromexico flights
  • Eligible for complimentary upgrades on Aeromexico or Delta Air Lines with companions (24 hours before departure)
  • Priority check-in and boarding on all Aeromexico, Delta, and SkyTeam flights

Platinum

If you travel heavily within North America or with the SkyTeam alliance, you'll reach Platinum status, which requires either 80,000 Qualifying Points or 80 segments flown. With that, you'll get the following benefits:

  • 5x extra Premier Points on each booking (13x multiplier)
  • SkyTeam Elite Plus status
  • Access to Premier lounges and all SkyTeam lounges globally (+1 guest)
  • Higher priority complimentary upgrades on Aeromexico or Delta flights (72 hours before)
  • SkyPriority handling at airports globally

Titanium

Aeromexico reserves the Titanium tier for the busiest flyers (and the heaviest spenders). The requirements are complicated, so bear with us:

  • 100,000 Qualifying Points or 100 segments
  • And at least 80% of the points accrued or flights must be flown or ticketed with Delta or Aeromexico to qualify

This 80% requirement is exceptionally high considering other airlines, such as United, only require four flights on the carrier and the rest with partners. But if you want to hit Titanium, only 20% of your first spending can be with other SkyTeam partners to qualify. This is harsh but ensures that Aeromexico only rewards those who fork over cash to itself or Delta.

However, you'll also be rewarded with top-tier benefits; ones usually deserved for Delta's highest Medallion members, namely:

  • 8x Premier points on bookings (16x multiplier)
  • Highest priority upgrades, clearing 120 hours before departure (equivalent to Medallion Diamond and Platinum)
  • Access to all economy seats during booking for no extra fee
  • Lounge access with two guests
  • No service charge on one reward booking per year

An interesting program

As usual, we'll look at four areas while writing our guide to Aeromexico Rewards: earning points, earning elite status, spending points, and the hidden benefits. However, right off the bat, Aeromexico is notable as the only carrier that gets to share in Delta's complimentary upgrade program. Combined with a relatively achievable elite status (compared to other North American carriers), could Club Premier be the program to consider?
