The Bombardier C Series aircraft joined the Airbus family in July 2018 and was rebranded the Airbus A220, with two variants, the -100 and the -300. The acquisition of the CSeries program has proven successful for Airbus, which has sold over 800 aircraft, almost 300 of which are currently in operation. In five years, more than 90 million passengers have flown on A220s.

Today, A220s fly routes as short as 90 miles and as long as 2,689 miles. Let's analyze the longest routes below.

#1-5

JetBlue, one of the largest operators of A220 aircraft, has the longest route worldwide. The New York-based carrier deploys its A220-300 on a transcontinental route from Boston Logan International Airport to San Jose International Airport in California. The 2,689-mile flight has an average duration of six hours from east to west. In the opposite direction, the flight takes about five hours.

AirBaltic, the flag carrier of Latvia and an all-A220 operator, has a route just five miles shorter than JetBlue's Boston - San Jose route. AirBaltic deploys its A220-300 from its base in Riga to Dubai, covering 2,684 miles. The Riga - Dubai flight has an average duration of six hours and twenty-five minutes. The return leg takes slightly longer, reaching six hours and forty minutes.

JetBlue also has the third-longest A220 route, from Boston to Sacramento International Airport. The A220-300 is also used on this 2,636-mile route to the California capital. Breeze Airways, a young airline in the United States founded by David Neeleman, is one of three A220 operators in the US and has the fourth-longest A220 route. The low-cost carrier connects major cities to those with little air service, like its Providence - Los Angeles route. Breeze uses its A220-300s to cover the 2,592-mile route.

Air Canada also has the A220-300 and deploys it on its Montreal - San Francisco route, covering 2,538 miles. The flight lasts about five and a half hours, flying west. Air Canada also deploys its Boeing 737-8 (MAX) on the route.
