Multi-national European aircraft manufacturer Airbus is a large and diverse company, with over 130,000 employees on its books as of 2020. It is best known for its production of airliners, but it also has other divisions such as Helicopters and Defence & Space. There is even a football team that bears the company's name, whose stadium is situated adjacent to its Broughton factory.

The Qantas Group's first Airbus A220 aircraft has entered the final assembly stage, marking a key milestone for the airline group as its fleet renewal program ramps up.

Low-cost carrier IndiGo announced a record-breaking order for Airbus A320 family aircraft at the Paris Air Show last month. The order takes IndiGo's backlog of just under 1,000 aircraft, setting it up as the largest operator of the type in the world for years to come. While the announcement caught the eyes of many, the airline did not specify details of the order, a common tactic taken by the airline. More than half of the the order comprises A321neos, which will significantly expand its current fleet of the aircraft type.

Last October, Airbus launched a competition for the livery design of the keenly anticipated freighter version of its popular widebody, the A350F. The competition was open to everyone from professional designers to students across all fields of studies and even hobby artists, with a deadline of November 28th.With over 4,000 entries, the selection process was challenging for Airbus' jury, who finally picked two similar submissions and combined them to form the final winning design. During the big reveal at a special ceremony at the Paris Air Show today, the winners were announced as John Feehan and the brothers Quinnten and Ellisten Iversen.

European aircraft manufacturer Airbus is preparing to deliver an A321neo jetliner manufactured in China to a European customer for the first time. This move is part of Airbus' efforts to overcome constraints in delivering new aircraft to customers and adjusting its global production network.Data from FlightRadar24.com shows that the A321neo, manufactured by Airbus for European low-cost carrier Wizz Air, successfully completed its first test flight on June 9th.

The Airbus A220 currently has two models (-100 and -300) in production, both exclusively powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1500G engines, which have experienced reliability issues recently. The airline previously indicated it was open to bids from other manufacturers, including General Electric/Safran joint-venture CFM International and current supplier Pratt & Whitney.Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury indicated recently that a larger third variant, the A220-500, might contain a dual-engine option "if engine manufacturers are ready to go there." The upcoming plane is expected to complete the A220 family of aircraft at the lower end of Airbus's product range.

While Boeing's 727 through 777 family jets have dominated the freighter market for decades, European aircraft manufacturer Airbus is speedily regaining ground – particularly in the sustainability-driven next-generation sector.

Airbus and Boeing are reportedly engaged in a race to woo India’s largest airline, IndiGo, for a widebody order. The low-cost carrier is already said to be finalizing a massive single-aisle aircraft order with Airbus and could also order a widebody fleet for the first time in its history.

Airbus delivered 63 aircraft to 36 customers in May and had 17 gross orders. BOC Aviation ordered seven A320neos, nine were ordered by an undisclosed customer, and Delta Air Lines ordered another A330-900 (A330neo).

Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier Volaris just took delivery of a brand-new Airbus A320neo aircraft. While new aircraft deliveries are special in their own right, this particular one is even more so as the aircraft was built at Airbus’ production facility in Mobile, Alabama. So far, all A320 family airframes produced at this production facility went only to US carriers, making Volaris a recipient of the first international delivery for Airbus Alabama.

Airbus is taking an A220 on a demo tour around South East Asia to showcase the aircraft to potential airline customers. The Airbus A220-300 is registered as YL-ABO and belongs to airBaltic, sporting the Latvian carrier's livery.With no airlines in the South East Asia region currently operating the A220, the aircraft manufacturer will be keen to build up interest in the type and hopefully secure some orders as a result. The only Asian carrier to fly the A220 is Korean Air, which boasts 10 of the aircraft in its fleet.YL-ABO set off on its journey from Riga on May 20th, and according to FlightRadar24.com, has so far visited the UAE, Thailand, and Malaysia. German flag carrier Lufthansa's first reactivated Airbus A380 is taking its first steps. The aircraft is returning to service in advance of its upcoming summer launch in Boston and New York City. The nine-year-old aircraft, D-AIMK, left its desert storage location for Frankfurt in December and has been undergoing upgrades and maintenance since.

Iqaluit Airport (YFB), in Canada's northernmost territory of Nunavut, welcomed another Airbus A321XLR for its cold weather testing. Airplane manufacturer airbus frequently sends new aircraft to the airport for cold weather testing in arctic conditions, including the Airbus A380.F-WWAB headed for Iqaluit on March 14th for four days of rigorous testing. This week's average temperatures have been near -24 degrees celsius ( -12 degrees Fahrenheit), with additional wind chill taking this to below -46 degrees celsius (-50 degrees Fahrenheit).

In an emotional farewell, Air Greenland's (GL) Airbus A330-200 is destined for Tuscon after 20 years of connecting Greenland to the world. The A330-200 is currently en route to Arizona, where it will be used for parts.The airline recently received its new Airbus A330-800, which will be more fuel efficient and reliable to deliver an unrivaled passenger experience. Home to a population of 56,000, Greenland had relied on the Airbus A330-200, named 'Norsaq' (registration OY-GRN), to connect Greenland to Europe for many years.The airline, which now has retired its 26-year-old A330-200, OY-GRN, has its replacement A330-800 OY-GKN, taking over its routes between Kangerlussuaq (SFJ) and Copenhagen (CPH). Air Greenland is home to seven De Havilland Canada Dash 8-200, which connect its regional centers across Greenland. The airline has four Airbus helicopters (two x H225 and two x H155) and a Beech King Air 250 for further connectivity.
