Fresh off the back of a busy 2022/23 financial year in terms of hiring, the Emirates Group is picking up where it left off with another recruitment drive. This will see the company scour the world for talent suitable for more than 180 different roles, hosting open days and other events across six continents in the process.

Continuous growth

The Emirates Group recruited an impressive 17,160 new employees in the 2022/23 financial year ending March 31st, per a statement today. This helped the airline giant grow its workforce to some 102,000 individuals. Oliver Grohmann, the company's SVP of HR, stated:

"People aspire to be part of the Group’s growth story and its ambitions as well as work and live in Dubai, one of the world’s safest, most cosmopolitan and dynamic cities. In the last financial year, we received around 2.7 million applications globally for roles across the organization."

Now, the Emirates Group is looking to continue this growth with a new recruitment drive that covers more than 180 roles across the company. As well as the usual suspects, such as pilots and cabin crew, the Group is also looking for "engineers, IT professionals, and customer service agents at both Emirates and dnata."

Getting onboard

One of the most important aspects of the Emirates Group's latest campaign will be the recruitment of cabin crew. The company plans to host both open days and invite-only events for these positions, with these taking place across six continents. Applicants are promised a quick turnaround, with the process completed within a day and feedback within 48 hours.

Explaining the drive, Grohmann adds:

"We are using the latest technologies, such as digital assessments, artificial intelligence and other top-notch recruitment systems to shortlist, select and respond to candidates in the most efficient and effective ways. Our focus is on recruiting the best talent, the brightest minds, and those most fit for the various roles that will support and drive our future growth and expansion."

For those wanting to work at the front of Emirates' aircraft, the Group is hosting pilot open days in the UK and Ireland. These will take place in August, following an online seminar on July 19th. The UAE flag carrier is recruiting Airbus A380 Direct Entry Captains, First Officers with "multi-engine, multi-crew aircraft experience," and "experienced Airbus Captains" for its Accelerated Command program.

Plenty of roles on the ground

July and August will also see the Emirates Group host a series of Engineering open days in Australia, Canada, Brazil, South Africa, and the UK. This aspect of the carrier's operations is playing an increasingly important role, with its fleet currently undergoing retrofit programs and about to see Airbus A350 and Boeing 77&X deliveries. It is seeking "75 Structural Technicians [and] 400 [other] positions."

When it comes to IT, the Emirates Group hopes to recruit a similar number of individuals, with over 400 new employees sought across a variety of roles in this sector. Meanwhile, the Emirates Group also wants to expand its customer service team, with part and full-time positions available at Emirates Airport Services, dnata, Marhaba Meet & Greet Services, or at its contact centers.
